What do you think of the idea of placing Bottle City inside the Tomb of Horrors. Instead of the Siren's grotto, you have this little glass bottle on a
stand . . . (perhaps with the Siren and/or other prisoners of the Demi Lich inside).
What fun would ensue . . . .

Wow, that's insidious, Endymion. I will remember if I ever need a co-DM o keep you in mind. I like the way you think.

BC is a bit of a mood-change from ToH, but it's still an insidious idea, Mark!

Oooh . . . I could even add in some of the elements I liked from the Return to the Tomb of Horrors. Given the added risk of Bottle City, I could put in some
tangible benefits, like NPCs who maybe have some inside information on how to combat Ace (or, at least about what DOESN'T work). I could put in that NPC
from the Return who's the last survivor of a failed attempt -- he'd be mad, of course, unable to give detailed information, but he would have some
useful tidbits. Maybe even the City of Moil could be part of the upper works to Bottle City. There are all sorts of tonal shifts to negotiate (as Grodog
notes), but it could be done. I never really liked the rest of the Return to the Tomb, especially the part about a temple/city being built around the tomb
(which to my mind must always be in some desolate, wind swept locale) -- there's some other good (and killer) stuff in it, though.
Now, what to do with the Gods in Bottle City -- old enemies of Ace? Friends/henchmen?

I took a guy thru the module decades ago. IIRC, he was playing a cleric and died pretty damn fast. Don't recall how.
