It's unfortunate that events have taken the attention away from the products Rob has published.
I've only read Bottle City, and I think it's one of the best adventures ever published, and there's been almost no discussion of the material. Has anybody DMed or played the adventure yet? I'd like some opinions on whether it plays as well as it reads.

I co-DM'd it with Rob at GenCon 2007 twice, but I haven't inflicted it upon my local play group yet (most of whom also played at least a little of BC at the same show).

I found it to play very well, but some areas definitely require advanced prep from the DM (encounter 9 in particular, although any of the encounters with un-detailed high-level spellcasters should probably have a little prep time allotted too).

I think players who are unused to one-way doors, moving walls, teleporters, and mapping in general, will have a bad time playing in BC: the adventure is a meat-grinder, and if players aren't very careful, their PCs will become permanent residents.... I don't think of BC as aggressively vicious as Tomb of Horrors, but I think that it's on par in general with that adventure in terms of difficulty level, but in a less-concentrated way since the threats are distributed over a larger area.

What other kinds of Qs do you guys have? I don't know if anyone else has run BC yet, but if so, feel free to chime in

Couldn't agree more, Scotty (though late). I am very invigorated these days and in fact feel like my good old self again. My life has always been a series of strange ups and downs that come in HUGE waves, unrelenting. I once described it like this in a fictional representation of my times: I could be walking down the street and a skill saw would fall from a scaffold, cutting my leg off, and I stumble forward into a garbage can, knocking it over a brief case comes out of the can and pops open--revealing inside it just enough money to pay for the surgery to get my leg put back on...

No kidding. I've told this to Grodog, Eric Shook (years ago) and to Paul Stormberg, among others.

As for the BC, HAS anyone DMed it? Interested Pipers want to know...

As to BC: No, not yet, but very much looking forward to it. I'm thinking of somehow including it into Gary's Hall Of Many Panes adventure that I'm currently running.

I've also got plans to include it in my groups adventures when they get either to D1-2 or Q1, but as of now the party is in G2. We rarely game these days with my Masters and all, so it may be a while. . . .

I have finally had a chance to read through the entirety of the module. Nicely put together. I do not have the version with all the historical importance, but the one I read gave me a sense of watching (or playing, rather) one of the Sinbad movies -- the one where the princess is cursed and shrunken (I know it is a Harryhausen film) -- only on a much grander scale. I'll be using the City shortly in a mini-campaign.

Yeh, GT, someday. I was thinking about this a few weeks ago but got side-tracked with other projects.

My disenchantment with it is thus: More city stuff. I have designed to date way too many cities, unpublished or other (Falcondun for Trigee, which was never published but about 30,000 words then and 16+ maps; Lost City of the Elders; City of Brass, Evancee (for my 2nd World of Kalibruhn personal Campaign); and pieces here and there for others). I am quite literally never looking forward to designing cities again (unless some megalopolis makes me a city planner).

But, It'll come again someday, don't worry, be happy.

Nice to see you back, GT, you've been missed.

Or you could use my Gaxmoor variant, in a pinch, Greg. It explains those Zagyg statues all over Gaxmoor.
I've linked Gaxmoor up to Bottle City and Zayene. The complete, brief, history:

Oeridian gods allowed Gaxmoor to slip into pocket dimension to save from impending destruction. Zagyg discovered the city and visited it, erected a few statues, etc. Eventually he created the bottle/gate in his dungeons. Gaxmoor was visited by adventurers who shared the tale. One of these tales eventually reached Zayene. Upon further research he discovered some potent items were rumored to be there. He yanked the city back to the prime to attack it in force.
I place Gaxmoor in Sunndi. Zayene tries to pull this off incognito, but evidence of Aerdi involvement shows up, which prompts the Iron League to hire the party to off Ivid. Proceed with MoZ series.
