Are the maps published on WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins the or part of the original ones you used back then?

Nope. They were TSR's contrivances and have no association whatsoever with the original castle. Neither EGG or myself were consulted on the project. But it's history now; and PPP's Lake Geneva Castle and Campaign product line will detail all of my levels originally created for said Castle, Outdoor and City (and Bottle City and the Original Living Room are but the tip of the iceberg with that) and Gary himself is publishing his version of it as Castle Zagyg, which may include original pieces, but the details of that project are best sought from him.

Well, thanks for the enlightenment on the subject. I'll certainly take a look at Gary's work and hope to see more of that iceberg soon!

Hi Gabriel--
Be looking for The Stalk soon, from the original campaign, and another as yet unannounced product (hopefully Monday, but we have two technical things delaying the announcement right now), another "Gem" which will be released with Campaign Treasures and written by myself. That "iceberg" will continue to be chipped away at with these two Original Campaign releases. |

Talking about maps... This map posted on CF! shows two locations: the Ruins of Robilar Keep (NW of GH city) and Robilar's Manor (SW of GH city on the edge of Gnarley forest). I guess from what I've read in these forums that what is showed in that map as Robilar's Manor is in fact Robilar's Castle which was sacked after his incursion into the ToEE. Any comments? Also, did Robilar had a manor or a keep apart from the castle? Saludos, Gabriel |

Re: Castle Greyhawk Maps | ||

Nope. I dont even have to look at it to say that that is not the real
stuff. His castle was located SW of the City and that has been online information ever since I have been online, and of course before that everyone form the LG campaign knew of this location as well. More extrapolation; but I am due to release something on him soon (erh, secret project hint), so fans interested in the real story of my PC, Robilar, need only look to it. |

Back on the subject... Now that I have the EttRoG module, I compared its maps with the WGR1 ones. To my surprise, most of them (except the ones from the Tower of Zagig - maybe these are based on the original ones) are in part much like the ones in WGR1. Since not all the levels are mapped in EttRoG, I can now use the WGR1 maps for the in-between-scenario areas. I'm not planning to use the whole WGR1 module, just the maps. Saludos! Gabriel |

Clang: It is one of the six projects (or maybe 7, now) that I mentioned in the Alchemy post.

I am currently working on a project due out in 4 months, more or less, that will bring SIX (6) of my original Greyhawk Castle levels to print as LGC&C
releases, including remastered hand drawn maps and a players map, each. The levels include: The Boreal Level, The Machine Level, and four others comprising
core and deeper levels of the castle (range 7th and below), and include many special areas, such as where the original Gem of Brightness was located, where the
original Ring of Shooting Stars was located, where the original proto-garden which was later made into the Garden of the Plantmaster was, etc, etc.
PPP, as of today, has come to terms with a graphics person to render the PLAY version of each map based on my originals, the latter which will also be included for historical/collecting purposes, so that's 2 maps/product. "Atom," Andy Taylor has rendered two of the covesr so far and we have the same aforementioned illustrator/graphics person doing the renderings for the remainin 4. As the project proceeds we will sample and announce who this secret [erson is, in fact. We are looking to release these at once to reduce costs in shipping to our consumer core and to possibly offer a buyer discount in packages of 3, thus two sets are being considered at reduced costs for each rather than cover price for each x6, but these figures are being bumped around right now and I will have mre concrete facts after all figures are properly brought to light. Long live Greyhawk. RJK

You sir, are a cruel man. My gaming budget for A.D. 2009 is precisely $50 (our budget got tight since I started my Masters degree)!
Will you take essays and research papers from my American History Masters program as payment? |

Well L,you've been a great supporter in the past, we'll make sure you get some and you can owe us for a change.
It's final, I have someone rendering the maps and illustrations for them, and they will come out in two sets. That's six levels, which I have begun writing on again. There will be more on this on the site and in the new Newsletter--the Piper's Corner, Issue #1--when the drive begins in 7-10 days. Robilar

Rob, I'm looking forward to seeing the new products as well as the Piper's Corner. My wife and I have our wedding anniversary coming up in May. One or
two of these may make a great gift idea for my wife! That keeps it out of the "module budget" and puts it in the "gift budget."
